Parents of Barack Obama
Barack Obama's parents are Barack Obama, Sr., and Ann Dunham. Since Barack Obama Sr. left the family when Barack Obama Junior was only 2, it is important to learn who helped in raising him. Most important figures in Barack Obama's upbringing were his mother, Ann, his stepfather, Lolo Soetoro, and his maternal grandparents Stanley and Madelyn Dunham. Both Barack Obama's parents are dead. Both died relatively young. Ann from ovarian cancer at 52 and Obama Senior in a car crash at 46. Barack Obama's stepfather Lolo Soetoro died of liver ailment at 51. Stanley Dunham died in at 70.
